Today, we recognize Tahltan Day and the enduring strength, culture and community of the Tahltan Nation.

Galore Creek is located within Tahltan Territory, and our longstanding relationship with the Tahltan Nation continues to shape how we approach our work and Project development.

In recognition of Tahltan Day, we are pleased to celebrate this year’s Tahltan-GCMC Bursary and Ann M Ball Bursary recipients and the goals they are working toward.

Established through the Participation Agreement in 2006, the Tahltan-GCMC Bursary Program has supported Tahltan students pursuing education, training and career goals for 20 years. Now in its 6th year, the Ann M Ball Bursary supports Tahltan leaders enrolled in post-secondary education.

We extend our appreciation to Tahltan community members, leaders, Elders and youth, and congratulate this year’s bursary recipients as they continue their education and pursue their goals.

Tomorrow, join us in Dease Lake for our Tahltan Day Open House and Archaeology Exhibit.

From 12:00 to 5:00 PM, community members are invited to drop in, meet GCMC and Kleanza representatives, view archaeological artifacts from the Galore Creek Project site, and join us for their return to the Tahltan Nation.
